Swanage train hits bus

A steam hauled train on the Swanage Railway in Dorset collided with a bus on Quarr Level Crossing near Harman’s Cross at around 12.30 on June 18. Reports indicate that the driver of the bus was seriously injured and was removed from the scene by air ambulance, however at present no further details of injuries are available.

Nobody at the Swanage Railway was able to make a comment, however images from the scene indicate that one of the lines two Standard ‘4MT’ 2-6-4Ts, Nos. 80078 and 80104, was involved in a bunker first collision.

Further news will be added as it becomes available.
